Congratulations to Schmidt Kramer partner Scott Cooper on being included in the 2022 Law Power 100, a list created by City & State Pennsylvania.
The list consists of 100 attorneys, federal prosecutors, bar association leaders, deans of law schools, defense lawyers and public interest lawyers who are helping shape the direction of Pennsylvania legally, politically and in other ways.
Cooper is 41st on the list. The list notes that Cooper takes on car crash and insurance claims.
Cooper is a former president of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and author of “The A to Z of Civil Depositions in Pennsylvania.”
Cooper has also been involved in landmark court cases. For example, in 2020 Cooper represented the owner of a restaurant who was suing Erie Insurance Exchange to recover compensation from business interruption insurance.
Cooper was also named 2019 Power Player of the Year by The Legal Intelligencer for his role in Gallagher v. Geico, which was argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The decision in this case helped to reshape Pennsylvania auto insurance law.
