The Shamokin News Item is reporting that three people were injured yesterday after a sedan pulled into the path of an oncoming handicapped van at Routes 61 and 487.
Trooper Wendy Keefer, of the Stonington station, said Andrea Beers, of Paxinos, was attempting to turn left from Route 61 onto Route 487 in a 1998 Buick Regal when she drove into the path of a northbound Ford E250 driven by Brandon Thornton, of Myerstown. Thornton, who was not injured, was driving from Lebanon VA Medical Center to ManorCare nursing home in Sunbury. A nurse, Cara Koons, of Shamokin Dam, and passenger Harold London, of ManorCare, both suffered injuries.
Keefer said Beers will face multiple citations.
