Derry Township police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed a single vehicle accident earlier today. One person was killed early this morning in a single-vehicle Pennsylvania car crash that occurred just after midnight in Derry Township, according to township police.
A sedan was traveling south on Homestead Road near Bachmanville Road when it went off the road and struck a tree, police said. A passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by officials with the Dauphin County coroner’s office. The driver of the sedan was transported to the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for treatment to unspecified injuries, police said.
The identities of those involved in the crash were being withheld early Monday as authorities worked to notify their families.
Derry Township police worked with the Dauphin County Accident Reconstruction Team at the scene of the crash. It remains under investigation and investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed it to contact township police at 717-534-2202.
