A single vehicle car accident this past Saturday on Interstate 81 in Franklin County killed a Shippensburg man and injured his mother. State police at Chambersburg barracks said Vincent Patrick McNerney, of Shippensburg, was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy on I-81 south at 7:35 p.m. Saturday when the vehicle hit a guide rail and flipped over the embankment. McNerney’s mother, Frances Senft Sterrett, of Shippensburg, was a passenger in the vehicle and was flown to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical.
