The Lancaster online newspapers are reporting that a 34-year-old woman was struck and killed by a forklift yesterday afternoon in East Earl Township, Lancaster County. Deborahlee Pinot, a township resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. East Earl Township police, who investigated the accident, said Pinot was walking in front of 557 Ranck Road just after 5 p.m. when she was struck by a tire of a Pettibone forklift driven by Paul W. Irvin of New Holland.
Pinot was walking south on the shoulder of the northbound lane in which Irvin was traveling. Irvin wasn’t injured. Police released no other information Tuesday night but said the investigation in ongoing.
