A jury recently found Wilkes-Barre General Hospital owed a man’s family over a million dollars because of the failures at the hospital. It appears from a news article in the TimesLeader that after Mr. Struzzzeri came out of surgery on his heart, his blood pressure began dropping, the drop was recognized but efforts to change the course of events were handled in a less than reasonable way. The hospital had since been purchased by Commonwealth Health Systems, who have had problems of their own as described in the TimesLeader article. It cites recent revelations of cyber attacks which may implicate more than four million patients, and a huge settlement with the government over their billing practices.
