Two people were injured after their motorcycle got a flat tire on I-81 south this past Wednesday, June 5, 2013. According to the police, the Pennsylvania motorcycle accident occurred as Richard E. Weig and Patricia A. Leo, both of High Falls, N.Y., were heading north on I-81 near Kriner Road when their Harley Davidson got a flat rear tire. Weig tried to regain control of the bike but the rear tire ripped off, causing it to fall onto its side. The motorcycle slid for about 30 feet before coming to a rest on the center line. Leo was able to crawl to the left shoulder, and Weig walked to the left shoulder.
Both were taken to Chambersburg Hospital with major injuries. Fortunately, both were wearing helmets and long-sleeve shirts and pants.
