News reports from Locust Gap are that a Sunbury man was critically injured early Easter morning when his vehicle was struck head-on by another car whose driver was attempting to make a pass. Andrew Ray, is in critical condition after he was transported to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following the 4:30 a.m. crash along Route 901 between Locust Gap and Locust Summit.
Mount Carmel Township Police said Monday that Joshua Griffiths, of Coal Township, was driving east when he attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him. His vehicle entered the westbound lane and collided head-on with vehicle. Township police Patrolman David Tomtishen said Ray’s injuries include two broken hips and injuries to his pelvis and spleen. Griffiths suffered only a minor scratch, police said.
