An accident involving a tractor trailer killed a Franklin County, Pennsylvania woman on September 13, 2012. The State Police are still investigating the car accident south of Harrisburg. Investigators have identified the woman killed in a crash Thursday on I-81.
Ayron P. Metcalf, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene by Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey Conner.
Conner said the actual mechanics of the crash are being reconstructed by Pennsylvania State Police. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday in Allentown.
The accident happened just before 11 a.m. at mile marker 2.5 on I-81 between State Line and Greencastle.
Conner said Metcalf was driving south and made contact with a tractor trailer, which was also southbound. Exactly how or who initiated contact is to be determined by the accident reconstruction.
She lost control of her vehicle, crossed the roadway, and struck a northbound vehicle.
