One person was placed in jail and three others were taken for medical evaluation after a pursuit Saturday, December 8, 2012. At 11:51 p.m. police observed a vehicle driving erratically on South Mountain Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg.
A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle failed to stop. A pursuit started on South Mountain Road near the National Guard facility, police said. The vehicle drove east on South Mountain Road and struck a telephone pole in the area of Dixon Road before being overturned, police said.
The driver, B.J. Robert James Smith, 21, Fayetteville, was taken to a medical facility for evaluation before being committed to Franklin County Jail on a detainer from Franklin County Probation. Passengers Sierra Emily Rexrode, 21, Fayetteville, Dwayne Scott Robinson, 21, Waynesboro, and Wayne Alexander Crider, 23, Niceville, were all taken to medical facilities for evaluations, police said.
