One person was injured in a six-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Nescopeck Township yesterday. The crash closed a portion of I-80 eastbound and backed up traffic for about eight miles. State police at Hazleton barracks said Volodymyr Mogylevych, Brooklyn, N.Y., was traveling in the left lane of I-80 east and failed to stop for traffic that slowed for a construction zone at mile marker 250. Mogylevych’s vehicle hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Karyn S. Yagel, Williamsport, and her vehicle was pushed into one driven by Joel J. Austin, Johnson City, N.Y..
After that, Austin’s vehicle was pushed into the right side of a vehicle driven by Michael R. Giantisco Jr., Montoursville. After initial impact with the first vehicle, Mogylevych’s vehicle continued to travel east and hit two more vehicles, driven by Allison M. Naumann, Bloomsburg, and Ralph C. Keiser Jr., Emmaus. Naumann sustained the only injury, which police categorized as minor.
