The Chambersburg Public Opinion online is reporting that a Willow Hill man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash yesterday, October 26, 2014, on Path Valley Road. Pennsylvania State Police at the Chambersburg barracks, said that Sally J. Strickler, 65, Willow Hill, was driving north on Path Valley Road around 2:10 p.m. just north of Pigeon Hill Road when her Subaru Legacy entered the southbound lane.
As the vehicle crested a hill, she swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The car began to fishtail and went into an uncontrolled slide, striking a utility pole. Strickler was flown to York Hospital with major injuries. A passenger, Glenn D. Strickler, 65, Willow Hill, was pronounced dead soon after EMS arrival.
